Simple Twist Of Fate

I was thinking last night how much my life is guided by God as opposed to just myself. Being in debt and working to pay it off has been very difficult. There are times I wish I would never have gotten into debt, but I must tell you, this trial has changed my life.

First of all, If I had never gotten into debt I would never have created this My Debt Free Goal blog or even gotten into Internet Marketing for that matter.

Working so hard and sacrificing has taught me some valuable life lessons.

1. Material possessions are over rated - We have sold pretty much everything we have and cut down to just the basics and I got to tell you, it feels better to not have so many ‘things’ to worry about.

2. Working together as a family towards a goal brings everyone together - Even our kids are excited about us becoming debt free. They don’t complain when we don’t spend money to do all the things they would like or when we don’t buy them toys or candy at the store. We instead spend quality time together at the park or playing board games. It has truly brought us closer together.

3. God turns our trials into blessings. Everything that has happened in my life or ever will happen are because God loves me and wants to teach me and help me grow. I have grown tremendously over the past year and all the blessings that have come out of this have come from Him.

Even though sometimes I feel guilty for being stupid enough to go in debt, I wouldn’t want to go back and take away all the good that has come out of this experience.

Find the Best Affiliate Programs for your Website

Guest Blog Post About Affiliate Programs:

If you want to make it in affiliate marketing you have to find affiliate programs that match the content on your website. Affiliate programs that doesn’t have any kind of relationship to the topics your writing about just won’t cut it – at least not if you want to make money.

A lot of people look only at commission rate when choosing an affiliate program, but don’t make that mistake; you need to have affiliate programs that offer products or services that your visitors are interested in. No matter how high any commission is – remember that you won’t get a dime if no one signs up or buys anything.

Another tip is to pick affiliate programs from brands that you know and like. Even though more and more people are buying things online a lot of people still feel insecure about it and hesitates when they are asked for their payment information. A highly recognizable brand is more trusted and makes your customers feel more secure when making a purchase.

To get more info; take a look at AffiliateTips.com which is a great affiliate directory. If you’re still learning how to work with affiliate marketing you’ll find articles on this site covering all the basics you need to know in order to start up your business.

Besides affiliate marketing, they also have articles on how to pick a domain name, get traffic to your site, basic SEO and web hosting to name a few. They also have reviews of all the best affiliate programs that are available.

In reading the reviews you’ll learn all the pros and cons which will make it easier for you to decide which one you want to partner up with.

If you for example have a site discussing the educational system in USA you should have a look at the education affiliate programs presented there. We wish you the best of luck in the affiliate business!

Using Google Tools To Improve Your Efficiency

Here is a guest post from my friend Richard Adams:

In this post I’d like to take a few minutes just to outline 4 Google tools that I have started using that have really made my life a lot easier.

1) iGoogle

iGoogle allows you to create your own personalised homepage on Google. Set it as the page your browsers start page and it’s the first thing you’ll see when you log onto the Internet from your computer, or in an Internet cafe can be easily accessed safely by you using your username and password.

iGoogle allows you to add all sorts of different “gadgets” to your homepage so you can see lots of things at once and so acts as my main control panel (or my “dashboard” for all you Wordpress bloggers out there!). Pretty much everything feeds into this one area so a quick view and I can access most of the tools I need.

Examples of what I have set up on my page:

a) My Gmail account shows unread items. Click the email and it opens up for me to read.

b) Weather forecast for wherever I specify. When I’m at home it helps me decide which days are going to have the best weather over the next week or so and so which day’s I’ll go out and enjoy it. When I’m away it can be useful for planning trips.

c) Google Feedreader. See below for more details on this one.

d) Latest News Headlines just to keep me up to date with what’s going on in the world.

e) Date and time.

f) Google Calendar so I always know what I’ve got coming up.

2) Google Docs

Create and access Microsoft Office-like files online. This means I can access files from any Internet-enabled computer so I can have domain details etc. in a handy spreadsheet and then if anything goes wrong (as it invariably does!) while I’m away I have the information I need to rectify it.

3) Google Calendar

My online calendar. Up until a year or two ago I maintained a paper calendar on my wall plus an Ipaq and a paper diary merely listing birthdays etc. Keeping all 3 of these things in sync was nigh on impossible.

With Google Calendar I have everything in one place that I can access via any Internet-ready computer. Even better, it’s set up to text me before important events so I don’t forget things and automatically syncs with my Palm Treo thanks to a nifty bit of free software I downloaded from the net. So I’ve even got a copy of my calendar on the smart phone whenever I need it.

4) Google Reader

Quite possibly familiar to you RSS-toting blogizens, Google Reader allows me to insert the RSS feeds of blogs I love to read. Using this reader means I can view all the latest posts in one handy place rather than having to visit each blog individually to see if they have been updated at all overnight.

Debt Is Slavery

The whole reason I started this blog in the first place was to motivate both myself and anyone who came across it to get out of debt and realize that no matter how far in debt you are, you can get out.

I cannot tell you how much lost sleep I have had over my debt. Debt is like a trap, it is so easy to walk into it and it is so dang hard to get out of it. Read more »

Interest Rates Are Getting Crazy

How can people get out of debt while the credit card companies charge 24.99% or more? It is crazy. I was looking at this Bank Rate Credit Card Calculator and calculated that a $5,000 credit card debt at 24% will cost you dearly.

Paying $125 a month it will take you 586 months to be rid of your debt. In that time, you will pay $18,812.72 in interest. Read more »

Some Of My Niche Websites For Sale

I am trying to pay off my debt quickly and since I have so many niche websites that I cannot keep up on promoting all of them I thought it would be good to do a fire sale and sell some of them off.

They all have 100% original content and are ready for you to make money with. Read more »

Do You Have An I Love Debt Score?

This is one area where Dave Ramsey completely changed the way I viewed my credit score. Your FICO score does not say how smart you are with money. Instead, it is nothing more than a “I Love Debt” score. It is all based on how much debt you have, what types of debt you have, how much debt you have had in the past and how many debt payments you have made. Read more »

CashCrate Update - 1 Year Later

I joined CashCrate exactly one year ago and I must say they are one of the only programs I have come across that pay on time every time.

Over the past year I have gotten an incredible amount of referrals. Let me show you my stats- Read more »
